What is a certified translation?
A certified translation can also be called a validated translation. This means it is a written translation that has been validated concerning its correctness and completeness by a translator with their signature and stamp or seal. Usually foreign language documents are translated for submission to authorities, administrations, courts or educational institutions.

What does a certified translation look like?
Certified translations contain a validation in the form of a stamp or seal, and the signature of the translator. They involve the complete and correct translation of a document or a certificate. The translators have been authorised by a legal court in Germany to produce certified translations.

Is the involvement of a notary necessary?
No, the certified translation of an authorised translator is sufficient. As a notary is not authorised to perform translations, a notarial translation does not exist in that sense.

A certified translation is performed by a sworn translator. „sworn“ and „authorised“ have the same meaning in that respect.

Why do I have to commission a certified translation?
The reasons why a document or certificate has to be translated into another language are manifold. Maybe for a registry office in a foreign country or due to relocating to another place. If you want to start working in another country, you will have to have your documents translated with certification as well.

Do I have to send you my original document?
No, the original document does not have to leave your hands. A good scan or photo uploaded via the Kostenrechner is enough.

After confirmation of the order you will receive an officially valid certified translation. This translation will be sent to you via mail to your home address within the delivery time agreed upon.
